Huseby Bruk

Huseby Ironworks is one of Sweden's best-preserved historic ironworks, dating back to the 19th century. Enjoy a delicious meal at Elisabeth's Garden Restaurant & Café, stroll through the beautiful gardens, visit the manor house, or explore the historic ironworks.

Huseby is also one of Alvesta Municipality's InfoPoints, where you can find tourist information, maps, brochures, and recommendations for attractions, activities, events, and experiences throughout the municipality.

When the last owner, Florence Stephens, bequeathed Huseby to the Swedish state in 1979, extensive restoration work began to preserve this remarkable industrial heritage site.

The manor house remains virtually untouched, with its original interiors carefully preserved. The historic waterwheels still turn, reminding visitors of the water power that once drove the ironworks. The restored 19th-century gardens are a delight to explore, and beside the former dairy building you'll find Elisabeth's Garden Restaurant & Café.

Next to the estate lies the Husebymaden Nature Reserve, one of the region's favourite birdwatching locations.

Huseby offers a rich programme of exhibitions, cultural events and seasonal activities throughout the year. Its famous Christmas Fair attracts around 35,000 visitors annually.

Visit Huseby's website for opening hours and current events.
